This exquisite example of Libyan Desert Glass ("LDG") weighs a very respectable 375 grams. An odd mass of that interesting Tektite variety, this piece is supremely translucent, rich in greenish coloration, and has a highly vitreous exterior. However, it is the presence of a large, uncommon, and unique hole that makes the superb specimen of LDG so incredible - and so rare. Measuring over 3.5 inches (8.9 cm), this offering is an excellent collection size and visually complex with an unbelievable combination of size, shape, color, texture, and diagnostic, conchoidal fracturing. The secondary result of a meteorite impact, this impactite, with the big hole, is highly collectible. The superb representation came out of the Great Sand Sea region of the Western Desert in Egypt.
