Libyan Desert Glass ("LDG") is a form of Tektite caused by a meteorite impact. The unique material is popular among collectors and uncommon. This chunky piece, weighing 265.8 grams, is a classic representation of the impactite variety, boasting pale greenish-yellow coloration and coarse texture over its solid form. The dense mass is fully opaque, and many of the indentations on the surface still contain remnant grains of sand consistent with this glass's Great Sand Sea origin in Egypt.
