Boasting a rustic, irregular shape, this sizable meteorite slab represents a rare Pallasite, known as Imilac. Considered one of the top varieties of the unique and uncommon group which accounts for a mere fraction of one percent of all formally classified meteorites, such material that was found in Chile in 1822 is prized by collectors and enthusiasts alike. This highly translucent specimen is fully covered in colorful Olivine crystals, giving the otherwise metallic slab an abundance of vibrant hues, including gold, green, and brown. The sharp-edged slab weighs just over 153 grams and has a sizable surface area over both finished sides relative to the weight. Measuring 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide, this piece of the highly collectible meteorite is one ideal display specimen sure to enhance any cabinet.
