Julesburg Meteorite Slice & Admire Meteorite
Chondrite, L3.6
Colorado, USA - (39° 58' 30"N, 102° 16' 0"W)
Found: 1983

Pallasite, PMG
Kansas, USA - (38° 42'N, 96° 6'W)
Found: 1881

This Lot consists of two fine meteorite specimens with two historic American Meteorite Lab label cards. The slab is a large, rectangular, and blocky example of Julesburg weighing some 22 grams. The ordinary Chondrite, L3.6, boasts a dark color, a smooth face, and an uncommon, armored chondrule. The number "H429.56" is affixed to the back and matches the typed AML label identifying the material from Colorado. The other piece is an end cut Admire individual weighing just over 4 grams with the number "8.79" written on the back in white in contrast to its reddish-brown coloration. It comes with an AML card, handwritten in ink, likely by Addie Nininiger (the spouse of legendary AML founder Harvey H. Nininger), and verifies the specifications for this collectible pallasite sample. Both rectangular AML cards are in excellent condition.
Measurements: 1.44 x 1.10 x 0.25 inches (3.67 x 2.80 x 0.63 cm) - largest piece, total weight 25.8 grams

Provenance: Ex. American Meteorite Laboratory #H429.56 & #8.79, The Geoff Notkin Collection
