Perched one on top of another is a trio of very well-formed, complete, moderately lustrous, and translucent, rose-red Rhodochrosite crystals, each measuring 3 to 5.5 cm across. The well-formed crystals with razor-sharp edges and saturated pink color present dramatically on this threesome. There are a few smaller sidecar crystals at the top and bottom of the piece for added interest. All of the crystals have lustrous satin faces, some of which are selectively coated with a later generation of pink Rhodochrosite. Patches of dark gray metallic Tetrahedrite accent the left side of the piece and add contrast. The balance and arrangement of this stacked Rhodochrosite trio are unusual and elegant, producing an excellent small cabinet piece. One repair is noted under the large crystal. This is SHM763, which means it was collected in the early 1990s at the beginning of the Sweet Home mining venture when things were minimally prepped and polished, so you know this is natural and can possibly improve with modern lab techniques of cleaning. It has a shocking geometry and is a top older example of the variety.
