This magnificent Spanish Fluorite features large, lustrous, gemmy, rich purple and blue zoned cubes modified by octahedral faces. Over a dozen glassy, translucent Fluorite crystals on this piece range in size from 4 to an impressive 9 cm in maximum dimension. The interior of each crystal consists of a translucent, deep blue, barely perceptible phantom cube with a 2 cm thick outer dark blue zone. The broad, cube faces are glassy in contrast to the textured octahedral faces that are a product of minute, stepwise growth on these faces. This gorgeous and highly geometric piece looks absolutely magnificent on a shelf and is very three-dimensional, and has tremendous visual impact. This is a marvelous Spanish classic from one of the best Fluorite localities on the European continent circa the 1960s to 1980s. It is huge, and in incredible condition, and presents with great impact. These intense and saturated colors are rare for this locale or for anywhere. Such large specimens like this are rare survivors, and it is essentially pristine and come with a custom engraved base.
