"Boulder" Opal

The polished face of this "boulder" opal reveals a spider web of intense Opal inclusions within a sandy matrix, originating from arguably the best continent in the world for Opal: Australia. Originally the veins in the host rock were filled with rich fluid that then deposited amorphous silica, known as Opal when it features the intense, flashing color play shown here. The colors are a mix of green, blue, and purple, with the blue being the most dominant and electric. This makes for a really stunning view!
