Like a gilded fleur de lis, a cluster of three leaves of Native Gold dominate this indulgent specimen, curving out like a flower. All three of the Gold Leaves have beautifully crinkling edges and thin, undulating forms, which curl around the white matrix. Matrix specimens, when it comes to Gold in particular, are highly desirable as the matrix acts as a pedestal to the metal, and the majority of Gold specimens that are prepared and processed are removed from the matrix from which it grew. This "leaf" habit is a relatively rare treat among the more common examples of Gold etched out of the matrix. The Gold has a lovely micro-texture that almost appears like subsequent layers of thin Gold. Of course, the color of this specimen is exceptional: a bright, bright warm yellow, a hue that is easily recognizable and totally distinctive to this element. The luster is excellent as well, brightly reflective and emphasized by the texture of the Gold. This is a remarkable specimen in all regards, with a distinctive flowering shape.
