This rustic and rough specimen of Gold hails from the famed 16-to-1 Mine in California. The piece has a length of 3 inches (7.6 cm) and is essentially a carpet of crystallized material atop a rocky bar of Quartz with a fairly white coloration. This example weighs 57 grams. The key feature of this offering is probably its origin being from the iconic mine in the Alleghany Mining District. The fine crystals are sharp, and the piece has an overall yellowish-gold coloration. This Gold looks historical and is undoubtedly a meaningful specimen.
