This well-preserved palm fossil, dating to approximately 51 million years ago, offers a striking glimpse into the ancient subtropical ecosystem of the Eocene Green River Formation. The specimen, attributed to the genus Sabalites, is presented within a gracefully contoured Limestone matrix that enhances its display quality. Palm fossils from this formation are infrequently encountered, as the fragile leaves of these plants rarely survived the conditions necessary for fossilization.
