Brightly colorful paintings of Classic Cars, vintage Americana, Hollywood Glamour and a passion for Pin-Pp art, Daniel Vancas for the last 3 decades has brought Americana to life with his brush. With his avid appreciation for the time period of Art Deco to Mid Century Modern, Daniel Vancas captures the essence of the early 20th Century through Post War America. Often by scouring vintage photographs for inspirations and adding his imagination to created iconic of scenes with a mix of fact and fantasy. This is readily apparent in many paintings that celebrates the 1930s through 1950s car and automobile culture. Or for aviation, like in his Flight to Mars features a vintage Signal gasoline station complete with a Coca-Cola sipping pin-up. However, the artist can't help but add a touch of fun with a mermaid, vintage movie stars or two, or a nod or two to the Space Race, Astronauts, and the odd Martian. As for his strictly pinup art illustration he often relies on his favorite living models as much as vintage ones.
Though having started his professional artistic career later in life, he did benefit with 7 years of early education in fine arts. A California native Daniel Vancas is known throughout the world as a leader in pinup art and Americana scenes selling hundreds of paintings including commissions. He counts actor Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, and Nike as some of his past clients and collectors.
This playful pinup styled painting shows a mermaid contemplating her chances when checking the only bait she would be interested in. It's a Vintage Coco designed neckless with a large ruby and diamonds all dangling on a solid golden hook. This painting takes its inspiration from both vintage pinup art stylings, and the wonderful movie "Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid" with actress Ann Blyth playing the mermaid.
