A Large Veraguas Gold Shark Pendant
Greater Chiriqui, Panama/Costa Rica, c. 700-1400 AD

A superb hollow casting of a life-like shark having three dorsal fins, four pectoral fins, gill slits, large raised eyes, and spiraling barbels from the sides of the mouth. An open mouth on the underside has sharply pointed shark teeth. Two loops on back for suspension. In excellent condition, minor spotted casting flaws original to the piece.
