A Cheyenne Beaded Hide Bowcase and Quiver with Recurved Wood Bow
c. 1880

The bowcase and quiver, stained with yellow pigment and decorated on either end with sinew sewn glass seed beads in a banded pattern, the strap accented with two small crosses. The bow, rubbed with red pigment, strung with sinew. Mounted in an acrylic shadow box.

Provenance:
Midge Kellough, Miami, OK - Reportedly the eldest living member the Peoria Tribe when she died in her 90s. Her third husband was Cheyenne.

Dimensions: length of bow, 39 ½ inches; acrylic box, 38 ¾ x 46 ¾ inches
