Description
An Olmec Standing Figure with Hands on ChestLas Bocas, Mexico, Early Classic Period, c. 1200-900 BC
A naturalistically proportioned female with flexed arms and hands held to breasts. The face with a delightful, happy expression, the mouth open as though vocalizing. Made of cream earthenware with red pigments on the hair, lips, ears, and recessed areas of the body. Appears to be in very good, intact condition, front of feet deficient. With a metal stand.
