Condition Report*:
Unlined canvas. Very slight yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned craquelure affecting the darkest pigments. Faint pentimento visible to the right of the Porte Saint-Denis, inherent to production. A small area of surface disruption in the sky just to the right of the Porte Saint-Denis. Not examined out of frame.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly and appears to have been selectively removed in some areas. Aforementioned area of disruption in the sky fluoresces. Some modern pigments fluoresce as expected. Extensive reworking above the varnish layer, consistent with the artist's practice.
