PROVENANCE:
Jacob Baal-Teshuva, New York and Paris
Jacob Baal-Teshuva is an author, critic and curator whose career focused on American and European art, publishing extensively on artists such as Mark Rothko, Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Christo and Jean-Claude and many others. Many of the works here are signed, inscribed, drawn on or otherwise personalized by the artists, and were from the personal collection of Baal-Teshuva.
Included in this lot are select pieces of correspondence between Sonia Delaunay and Baal-Teshuva, including greeting cards and postcards for upcoming exhibits; various lithographs, postcards, and exhibit brochures inscribed and signed by such artists as Junko Frank, Buky Schwartz, and Yaacov Agam; and other assorted ephemera from artists such as Christo, Herbert Ferber, and José Ortega.
