The first part of this group lot features a Franklin Mint silver plate illustration study for Trimming the Tree, a signed letter from Norman Rockwell, a group of two reference photos, and the issued Franklin Mint plate.
The undated, hand written, signed letter from Norman Rockwell to Donald Walton reads, "Dear Don -- Here are two drawings I am sending to see if I'm on the right track. Also the photos of the models to help the engravers. Before I precede with the other eleven drawings I need your suggestions. Cordially, Norman."
This Franklin Mint plate comes in its decorative box, and has its Certificate of Authenticity as issued.
The second part of this lot has no original art in it, but instead features the Bringing Home The Tree Franklin Mint Silver Plate with a related reference photo group (Franklin Mint, 1970). Included are four photos of Norman Rockwell at the drawing board, six reference photos, five promotion pieces, and the issued Franklin Mint plate of Bringing Home the Tree.
This Franklin Mint plate comes in its protective box, and has a letter to subscribers as issued.
