Description
A Seventy-Four-Piece Sèvres Chateau des Tuileries Pattern Partial Gilt Porcelain Married Dinner Service, 1844-1867Marks: (concentric circles-crown-SEVRES 1846-PL),(crown-roundel-CHATEAU DES TUILERIES), (crown-double LP-SV-46)
2-1/4 x 18 x 12 inches (5.7 x 45.7 x 30.5 cm) (largest, oval serving dish)
This Chateau des Tuileries Pattern set comprising:
10 9-3/4" diam. plates
8 7-3/4" diam. plates;
6 9-1/2 diam. plates;
10 shallow bowls;
9 teacups;
8 teacup saucers;
8 demitasse cups;
8 demitasse saucers;
2 sauce boats;
1 two-handled serving dish with cover;
1 round serving plate;
1 oval serving dish;
1 8-1/2" diam. plate.
73 total
Each piece with celeste blue borders and gilt scrolls, handpainted and gilt with putti. Seventy-two gilt monogrammed with crowned interlaced Ls and one demitasse cup with gilt monogrammed with a crowned N and dated to 1867.
Condition Report*:
The service in overall very good condition, with rubbing to gilt throughout, some minor fading to enamel, a minor shallow chip to verso of one 9-1/2" diam. plate, a fleabite to the rim of one teacup saucer, a minor chip to underside of one shallow bowl, a production-related push to the side of one sauce boat, a minor shallow chip to the foot of oval serving dish, otherwise no chips, cracks, or restoration observed.
