We definitely have something different here: a massive Quartz matrix coated by small, colorless Quartz crystals of matte luster. On top of this foundation, globular "berries" of Rhodochrosite are sprinkled with artistic abandon. The "berries" are bubble-gum pink and are formed of randomly oriented Rhodochrosite crystals with a curved habit reminiscent of Dolomite. One side is virtually covered with a crust of these things, while the other side shows more individual "berries" mixed in with the Quartz. The specimen is in excellent condition.
