Subjects include: 1 - Semeo or Umatilla Jim, Warm Springs Indian, photo by Charles M. Bell, Washington, D.C. 1877; 2 - Choo(indistinct)and his wife, Pinal Apache, photographer unknown. This band of Apache roamed the area in and around the Pinal Mountains, Arizona; 3 - Wa-Co-Mo, Sac and Fox, photo by Zeno Shindler, Washington, D.C. 186; 4 - Caw-lac-its-ca, Tawacanie, Tawakoni Indian, photo by Alexander Gardner, Washington, D.C. 1872; 5 - Keokuk or The Watchful Fox, Sac and Fox, photo taken by Thomas Easterly in St. Louis, 1847, as a daguerreotype.
