Bi-color Tanzanite crystals such as this are rare for the species, mostly coming from a single find at Merelani Hills. This highly transparent, lustrous crystal is saturated with a classic deep blue, capped with distinct yellow zoning throughout the termination. The piece exhibits excellent pleochroism with most of the crystal shifting from blue to a reddish-purple when rotated in front of a polarized white light. As a fun bonus, the overall shape of the crystal and color arrangement gives the piece an appearance that's reminiscent of a fang or talon. This piece is in excellent condition.
