Description
NWA 1208 Main Mass MeteoriteH5
Northwest Africa
Found: 1999
This celebrity offering consists of items personally donated by the star of the TV Documentary series "Meteorite Men" which aired for three seasons on various cable networks. Noted actor, author, and meteorite hunter Geoff Notkin has provided the Main Mass of NWA 1208 weighing 194 grams with a custom acrylic and metal stand which also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from his company Aerolite Meteorites, a signed copy of his book How to Find Treasures from Space, and the November 2010 issue of Meteorite! Hunting & Collection Magazine (Volume 1, Issue 3) featuring Mr. Notkin and co-star Steve Arnold. The ordinary chondrite specimen is an end cut classified as H5 and representing over HALF of the Total Known Weight of 368 grams. The meteorite is reddish brown over its polished window face, and the convex exterior boasts an incredible fusion crust over much of the natural rind. The specimen was initially acquired from legendary figure Allan "Al" Lang and comes with the original RA Langheinrich Meteorite Collection label. The Olivine-Bronzite end cut is exquisite, not only for its visual aesthetics, but also its provenance.
Overall Meteorite Measurements: 3.21 x 2.63 x 1.31 inches (8.15 x 6.67 x 3.34 cm), weighs 194 grams
