An inherently rare meteorite with a Total Known Weight (TKW) of only 72.2 grams, this piece represents the Martian shergotitte NWA 6342 which was the first example to evidence aspects of the mantle of the Red Planet. This slice weighs just under 3 grams and offers a revealing looking inside the material, which displays a dark gray and greenish interior coloration. The meteorite was found in Algeria in 2010 exhibits the effects of shock metamorphism. The thin section is quite visually compelling and an exotic specimen representing the Red Planet here on Earth.
Overall Measurements: 1.60 x 1.06 x 0.04 inches (4.07 x 2.69 x 0.11 cm), weighs 2.927 grams
