We thank Dr. Salomon Grimberg for confirming the authenticity of this work and for his help in cataloguing it. According to Dr. Grimberg, the drawing is preparatory for a painting from 1912-13, Adoration of the Virgin and Child, in the Reyero Collection, Mexico City.

Condition Report*: On stable paper supper with Canson watermarks: Ancne. Manufre. CANSON & MONTGOLDIER VIDALON-LES-ANNONAY A LAVIS. Vertical and horizontal folding creases across the center of the work, the latter being more pronounced. Additional scattered soft creases throughout the work, most apparent under raking light. Two small holes in the lower right quadrant. A very few scattered small dots of discoloration, possibly foxing. Some cracking to the center of sheet on the verso, where folding creases meet. Sheet is hinged to window mat at one point on the verso at center of left edge. Framed under glass.
