Description
Fossil Fish PlateKnightia eocaena
Eocene
Green River Formation
Wyoming, USA
A quintet of fossil fish of the Knightia variety populate this piece of sedimentary rock out of the famous Green River Formation of Wyoming. The five fossil fish are dark against the mottled background matrix, with a variety of earthy tones and visible layering. The marine creatures have been expertly "prepped" by legendary figures in the business with a reputation for producing fine quarried material with fossils form the renowned Lagerstätte. An added bonus is two unprepped partial fossil fish on the backside of this unframed mural from the iconic Fossil Butte Member. The complex matrix adds to its overall visual appeal.
