A Swedish-born artist, Carl Redin settled in Albuquerque in 1916 and by the 1930s had earned national acclaim for his impressionistic Southwestern landscape paintings. Edge of the Mountains features the "purple palette" for which Redin was famous.

A copy of an authentication by Nedra Matteucci accompanies the lot.
