Fossil Whale Vertebrae (Set of 2)

This duo of fossilized whale vertebrae is quite varied with one exhibiting the more "typical" shape of the iconic bone variety, while the other is rather odd, coming from a different part of the cetacean anatomy. Both examples from Alaska are relatively heavily mineralized for the type, and the odder shape example has some whitish barnacle "stains" on its periphery. Both specimens are fairly complete and attractive in an intriguing way and feature brownish-gray colorations. The larger has mysterious white streaking on it.
