Description
Petrified Wood BookendsUnnamed Petrified Wood
Triassic
Chinle Formation
Saint Johns, Apache County, Arizona, USA
Presumed to be from the iconic Saint Johns locality in Arizona, these complex, yet unfinished, bookends are quite unique. The pairing features cut window faces with wonderful patterning and muted hues, but which are not polished. The hefty forms also need to be cleverly utilized to hold up books yet still display the primary surfaces. This Petrified Wood has a lot to like about it, and the blend of color and patterns is appealing. The pieces are heavy enough to hold up several books, and are sure to be conversation items. The overall shape of each half is rather dimensional, and the exterior of each side is natural and mottled. The works of Lapidary Art have flat bottoms covered in felt to ensure a safe and scratch-free installation.
Overall Measurements: 11.00 x 6.69 x 4.72 inches (27.94 x 17.00 x 12.00 cm)
