After making his name at Esquire magazine in the 1950s, Fritz Willis went on to be one of the most celebrated later day pin-up artists at Brown & Bigelow, working for the company for over 15 years creating his unique brand of sophisticated and risqué pin up images such as this. A powerful technician, Willis also created a series of artists instruction books-many of which centered on figure drawing. This is a beautiful example of his particular style, showcasing his favored muted color palate and mature sensibility.
