While there are numerous crater-forming Irons, most relate back to ancient times. In 2009, a new crater was potentially identified using satellite imagery, then a subsequent expedition to the site resulted in the confirmation as material was found. Gebel Kamil is an "ungrouped" Iron and, typically, features a somewhat angular shape, which is clearly evidenced by this example weighing 130 grams. The textural rock is comprised of Schreibersite and Kamacite. The jagged and torn meteorite has several notable characteristics in this highly collectible offering.
