This specimen of Libyan Desert Glass, which is an "impactite," or glass, formed by meteoritic impact, has a nice duality, as the greenish vitreous face is slick and smooth, while the more yellowish, obverse side is rough with a much more raw texture. This specimen displays nicely without need of a base and, at some 638 grams, is quite sizable. The natural glass really fires up when hit properly with light and would make an excellent addition to any lighted display case of top quality meteorites and meteorite-related specimens.
