The world-famous Mazon Creek locality has provided this nodular positive-negative fossil leaf pairing. In an elongated "egg-shaped" rock matrix, each botanical remnant of Crenulopteris displays a central stem, leafy branches, and a dusty whitish coloration in nice contrast to the brownish earthy hues of its casings.
