With a fairly large monochromatic "core" of rich reddish-orange rust coloration, this roughly oval shaped slab of Petrified Wood has an earthy appeal. The muted and subdued reds and blues along with ancillary colors may not be as vibrant as some other examples of the coveted "rainbow" material, but an 8.5 inch (21.5 cm) piece like this need make no apologies. It is a fine representation of the State Fossil of Arizona.
