When viewed under Ultraviolet light (UV), only approximately ten percent of minerals will display a visible fluorescent habit. Collectors covet fluorescent minerals due to this habit and the array of colors present caused by different combinations of minerals. This fine example hails from the fluorescent mineral capital of the world - New Jersey. Featuring stacked Calcite crystals, this specimen lights up bright orange when viewed under Shortwave UV light, further accented by trickling veins of bright green Willemite and non-fluorescing black Franklinite. When viewed under normal conditions, the form and sharp crystals are attractive on their own. The trio is simply 'energized' and is a top-quality cabinet-sized fluorescent specimen from THE top American locality for the variety.
