Trained as a sculptor, painter, and printmaker, Dwight C. Holmes was an important early Texas artist known for his Southwestern landscapes, still lifes, and architectural paintings. He studied at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where he also became an instructor. Famous in Fort Worth for his architectural moldings which decorate several historic buildings, Holmes was also commissioned to paint large murals for Texas patrons.

Condition Report*: There appears to be no major visible condition issues to note; three of the four works appear to have the signature strengthened with a brighter orange signature overtop a darker red signature; under UV light, the orange pigment on signatures and throughout the works fluoresce, most likely reworkings of the artist. Framed Dimensions 10.5 X 12.5 Inches
