PROVENANCE:
Private collection, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
DeForrest Judd studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center between 1938 and 1942. He was a professor at Southern Methodist University from 1942 to 1982, and also taught at the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts (now the Dallas Museum of Art). His work is held in many private collections and museums, including the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Dallas Museum of Art. A true Modernist, Judd's signature style is characterized by intense colors, surrealistic moods, and an increasingly abstract approach to landscapes and other nature subjects.
Condition Report*:
Framed under glass. Not examined out of frame. Faint spots of foxing, Visible in the margin. Mild toning to the sheet. Overall presents well with no other visible issues to note.
