The monogrammed box belonged to King Christian IX of Denmark (1818-1906), father and predecessor of King Frederik VIII (1843-1912). King Frederik VIII married Princess Louise of Sweden (1851-1926) in July of 1869 shortly after her 18th birthday. The Future Queen Louise's posy holder, a gift from her father to commemorate the occasion, is also on offer here.
