Signed and inscribed by an unknown hand, with a typed caption label affixed to verso.

The typed caption label reads: This is Capa's most famous[sic] single picture, which came out of his reportage on the Spanish Civil War in 1936. Capa's camera caught the soldier at the very moment of death, as he was killed by a machine-gun bullet through his head.
