Description

Agate Bookends
Brazil

These striking Brazilian Agate bookends perfectly blend natural elegance with refined functionality. Cut from a single, larger Agate nodule, each half showcases the quintessential banding for which Brazilian Agate is prized, with soft shades of purplish-blue-gray thick banding near the rind, transitioning to expansive zones of colorless Quartz, accented further by delicate drusy Quartz crystal pockets framed by lovely brown angular banding. The polished faces offer a sense of dynamic movement as the crystalline Quartz catches and refracts light beautifully. The pair has been expertly cut with three polished sections-the main face, the thick flat interior where the books rest flush, and the base. The outer rind, a textured remnant of the original volcanic host rock, has been thoughtfully preserved, offering a tangible connection to the specimen's natural origin. Each half weighs approximately 12 pounds (5.4 kilograms) and measures around 7 x 7 x 4 inches (18 x 18 x 10 cm), providing substantial weight and support suitable for even the largest volumes. With their muted color palette and organic form, these bookends bring a quiet sophistication to any setting-from a home library or office to a curated mineral display. A timeless gift-especially for a budding graduate, a home office upgrade, or a collector of fine natural décor. Equal parts functional and beautiful, this pair is in excellent condition and stands as a striking testament to Earth's artistry-ideal for elegant interior display.
Larger Half Measurements: 6.89 x 6.69 x 3.74 inches (17.50 x 17.00 x 9.50 cm)
