Stalactitic Rhodochrosite is popular due to its distinct formation and bright red and pink hues. This fine slab has been spectacularly cut and polished, and the organic specimen exhibits iconic concentric growth layers with distinct core "eyes" near the center. The overall color is a bold pinkish red with varying saturations, and the remnant light yellowish brown stalactitic rind is still present three-quarters around the edge. The main display face has been polished to a high shine, and the back has been left natural. This is a very dramatic, impactful, and large specimen for the variety. Rhodochrosites of this caliber and size are becoming harder to find. The dense semi-transparent slab weighs 473.6 grams, sits snuggly in a Burl-type wood base for easy installation, and is in great condition overall.
