Description
Muonionalusta Meteorite WristwatchIron, IVA
Norrbottens, Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)
Found: 1906
This remarkable wristwatch seamlessly merges celestial history with fine horology, featuring a dial meticulously cut from the legendary Muonionalusta Meteorite-one of the oldest known meteorites, estimated to date back over 4.5 billion years. The meteorite's surface showcases the distinctive Widmanstätten pattern, an intricate crystalline structure that forms only in Iron meteorites through millennia of slow cooling in space. The meteorite dial is Rhodium-plated, enhancing both structural stability and luster, and is protected beneath a scratch-resistant Sapphire crystal, ensuring enduring clarity and durability. The timepiece is housed in a Stainless Steel round case, measuring 50.80 mm (2 inches) in diameter, with elegantly crafted Stainless Steel lugs and crown. A black Roman numeral bezel frames the dial, while black stick markers denote hours and minutes. The contrasting electric blue spade and sword-style hands add a striking accent and legibility. Powering the watch is a self-winding mechanical movement, activated by the motion of the wearer's wrist, offering both precision and timeless appeal. A skeletonized exhibition window on the caseback offers a captivating view of the movement's intricate mechanics, revealing the "bones" beneath the surface. Completing the design is a black alligator-embossed leather strap secured with a Stainless Steel tang buckle for a sophisticated, versatile fit. Water-resistant to 30 meters (3 ATM) and offered in pristine, unworn condition, this timepiece is more than a functional instrument-it is a wearable relic of the universe, a bold statement for those who appreciate the intersection of science, art, fashion-and time itself.
Overall Measurements: 10.24 x 2.00 x 0.42 inches (26.00 x 5.08 x 1.07 cm)
