The Carbonaceous Chondrite meteorite group is compelling, given what the variety offers in terms of understanding the building blocks of the solar system. This stunning end cut piece features one slick cut and polished face replete with an abundance of Calcium-Aluminum inclusions (CAI) that date back to the origins of the solar system billions of years ago. Weighing 141.5 grams, this is no tiny example, and the offering has a rugged, complex, and mottled exterior that gives the rock one substantial contrast between the natural and smooth surfaces. This extraterrestrial offering looks quite mysterious with a predominantly dark blackish coloration. The piece also has a designation CVox3 and represents a large portion of the Total Known Weight of NWA 16449, of only 585 grams.
