With a lot of visual charm, due in no small part to its naturally sculptural shape and 'classic' form, this solid Campo del Cielo Meteorite weighing nearly 1.7 kilograms (3.7 pounds) boasts a number of broad, shallow craters over the gunmetal metallic surface that is highlighted by subtle orangey patina visible in several of the regmaglypt "pits" on the rugged exterior. Representing the IAB-MG, which fell in Argentina, and was first found centuries ago, the example would be an ideal addition to any budding collection of meteorites in need of a quintessential Iron out of a really famous fall.
