Amethyst, Smoky Quartz Scepter with Hematite

The Scepter habit (alluding to the overgrown secondary generation of Quartz at the termination) splits this Quartz specimen into two sections: the "stem" is a very light lavender, whereas the top is far more complex with deep colors and inclusions. Inside is a mix of bright purple and deep smoky brown, caused by sharp chevron zones and wispy phantoms, respectively. In addition to that are highly reflective sparkles inside, which are actually thin transparent flecks of Hematite inclusions, which are intensely red when backlit. The surface of the crystal is modified by way of etching or hoppering, with nice horizontal striations.
