This exceptionally colorful cross-section slab of agatized Petrified Conifer Wood displays the vibrant red and green hues seen only in the rarest examples of Petrified Wood from the Chinle Formation. The polished surface reveals a striking palette of rust red, burgundy, gray, cream, tan, and ochre tones, enhanced by rich mineralization over millions of years. The outer edge retains the original bark texture, preserving the form of the ancient tree. With its generous thickness of nearly two inches, the slab's proportions make it well-suited for use as a coffee or end table, or as a prominent natural history display. A superb specimen of Araucarioxylon arizonicum, Arizona's State Fossil, notable for its color diversity, polish, and completeness.
