A Pair of Fine Sinu or Zenu Earrings
Colombia, c. 500-800 AD

Each a traditional fan shape, finely detailed, with three semicircular bands of cast gold semi-filigree in a herringbone pattern. Two small long-beaked sea birds at top corners. In excellent condition, no loss of any detail; some darkening of the gold on side of one. Truly amazing fine work in the traditional method of cast gold alloy (tumbaga).
