Description
Four Papago / Maricopa Pottery Vesselsc. 1890
including a figural vessel, a wedding vase, a vase inscribed Maricopa or Papago; and a pitcher, clay, paint
Provenance:

Heights: ranging from 7 to 13 inches
Condition Report*:
The lot in overall good condition. The two smaller vessels in unrestored, intact condition; no apparent overpainting or plaster additions, minor paint loss. A two inch chip to the rim of the spherical vessel. The two larger vessels in restored condition. The pitcher is broken and reassembled from approximately five large pieces with overpainting along the reassembly lines; the restoration is primarily on the body and the rim; neck and handle appear to be largely intact. The wedding vase is broken and reassembled from approximate four large pieces with overpainting along the reassembly lines; restoration is primarily on the handle and one of the spouts; body and the opposite spout appear to be largely intact. Wear commensurate with age and use on all vessels.
