Acquired by the present owner from the above, 2013.
Condition Report*:
Lined canvas. Frame abrasion at edges. Stretcher bar marks visible near edges, most apparent under raking light. Yellowing to the varnish layer. Pronounced craquelure. Some scattered small losses and repairs. Scattered dots of discolored accretion. Mild surface dirt and dust. Not examined out of frame due to size.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. Scattered instances of brushy retouching throughout, most concentrated in the right side of the work. Several lines of repair visible throughout. Extensive but finely applied retouching throughout to address craquelure. Strengthening applied to some areas of red pigment.
