This original watercolor and ink illustration was originally published on p. 6 in Madeline (Simon & Schuster, 1939), and depicts the Nurse (Miss Clavel) and Madeline with the girls lined up in two rows across each other while brushing their teeth.

This original watercolor and ink illustration was originally published on p. 6 in Madeline (Simon & Schuster, 1939), and depicts the Nurse (Miss Clavel) and Madeline with the girls lined up in two rows across each other while brushing their teeth.

Condition Report*:
Framed under glass. 1/4 inch wide strip of tape along the extreme edges, verso. Toning throughout the image. 5 x 1/4 inch vertical line of adhesive staining along the right edge, not visible in current framing. Signed of the production process including the registration stickers along the margins. Extremely mild handling crease in the upper left quadrant.
