PROVENANCE:
Sotheby Parke Bernet, Paris, no. 17 (handwritten Bailly NY).
Condition Report*:
Relined canvas. Craquelure present but paint film in fully stable, very good condition. Under UV magnification, it is apparent that the painting was cleaned only in the area of the face and the collar since the old varnish covers the remainder of the picture. Careful inpainting of cracks in the forehead and in the background to the right side of the boy's face. There are two spots of inpaint measuring 1 x 1 inch in the lower left quadrant. Otherwise no restoration. Framed Dimensions 35 X 29 Inches
